As the story goes, in case you don’t know, Swift won “Best Female Video” with her song “You Belong to Me,” beating out Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” video. Leave it only to West to interrupt her acceptance speech. “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, Imma let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. Of all time!” Leaving people like me to forever quote it out of context. Fast forward to 2017, and this incident has forever changed their relationship and careers. Check this out, courtesy of our friends at Genius:
Word quickly spread about Takeo Ischi and he became known as the “Japanese yodeler” (“Der japanische Jodler”). Not a creative name, but you get the point. He returned to Japan, met a nice girl and proposed to her by, you guessed it, yodeling. They married and had five kids while Ischi solidified his role as one of the world’s most preeminent yodelers. He’s largely credited with bringing the culture of yodeling to Japan, at least modestly. That pretty much brings us up to speed.

Before we move deeper into our analysis of this track, take another good look at the image above. Those are all the diatonic triads built on top of the scale tones of E♭ major. If this is new to you, I strongly suggest playing these chords on your chosen instrument. See if you can hear the relationship between each chord.
An example of this might be using Sibelius to augment students’ learning and practice within a Western section of their curriculum, but introducing digital worksheets, sound libraries, and notational software to learn about Indonesian gamelan composition. Students may discuss what is gained and lost in comparative studies, what shadows exist in traditional software related to microtonal and quartertonal notation, how sound libraries can skew our perceptions of orchestral roles, etc.
Once you’ve got your sound dialed in, you’re ready to start getting creative. Keep in mind, these bass lines are simple — they’re not going to have the same fluidity and movement as the electric bass lines we looked at on the previous page.

With all of Logic’s inredible instruments, producers often rely on the sound of the samples right out of the box, here’s how to make them more interesting.
The thing about Top 40 music is that it has to be easily digestible to be successful. Usually, it can’t be anything too complex — simple, singable melodies, accompanied by very logical chord changes. As it turns out, this makes pop a great place to start learning about theory and expand your harmonic knowledge.
While many sitcoms have musical episodes, I think Scrubs might’ve outdone the rest. Primarily, because the musical theme actually fits the plot of the episode. The show, which revolves around the daily lives of people working at a hospital, features a variety of hospital patients with different problems and diseases throughout its nine seasons, and this episode involves a woman who literally hears everything anyone says as if they’re singing it.
When word eventually spread across Europe of how talented this young player was, he started receiving employment offers from as far away as the Tsar of Russia — whom he declined when he was offered a higher salary by the Chapel of San Marco. He was such a legendary double bass player in his time, that his instruments were custom-built for his height and bodily specifications. In 1799, he traveled to Vienna to meet Joseph Haydn and ended up performing with Beethoven, himself, who transcribed his own Cello Sonatas to double bass so that they could play the pieces together, with Beethoven on piano.
Not every house show needs to be strictly acoustic, but most don’t provide the space or gear for earth-shattering volumes or fancy sound effects. These limited setups sharpen an artist’s performance skills and often lead to new creative interpretations of their music, and more comfort in one’s ability to make do.
